Black Lives Matter Protest

 Raleigh, NC. June 2020.

Amidst a grueling global pandemic black people in America were battling  multiple pandemics at once. The murders of Ahmaud Abrey and Breonna Taylor were lingering, but it was the murder of Minneapolis  resident George Perry Floyd by Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin that seemingly made everyone say enough is enough. Rightfully, angry, saddened protestors took to the streets of more than 50  American cities simultaneosuly to protest the injustice of murders by cops.

“I SAW THAT THE CAMERA COULD BE A WEAPON AGAINST POVERTY, AGAINST RACISM, AGAINST ALL SORTS OF SOCIAL WRONGS. I KNEW AT THAT POINT I HAD TO HAVE A CAMERA.”
